Half a century ago, in the small village of Bruchweiler in the Palatinate region of the Rhineland, Otto Muck finished his apprenticeship in shoemaking.  His dream was to handwork fine leathers into the most beautiful and comfortable shoes in Germany.  A small company, Named after his wife was soon started after.  Today his son Eckhard Muck and his brother Kurt Muck still follow Otto's traditions of fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.  All Theresia M shoes are made with the natural shape of the foot in mind.  They come in half sizes and widths, because all feet are not created equal.  And they are still made by hand.  Otto would not have it any other way.

 Theresia M., the German-based specialty shoe manufacturer, has taken a bold step ahead by introducing their redesigned image and an innovative new collection at the recent GDS show in Dusseldorf. Theresia M.'s new collection offers younger, more modern designs created with a sophisticated, fashion-forward customer in mind. A sleek and modern new logo brings the company's image into the 21st century.


 A family owned company, Theresia M. has long been known and respected for it's anatomically correct designs and hand-crafted quality. Theresia M. continues to uphold these values while introducing new, fashion-forward designs to the specialty shoe market.

 Over a half century ago, in the small and picturesque village of Bruchweiler, in the Palatine region of the Rhineland, Otto Muck realized his dream and founded a company devoted to creating the most beautiful and comfortable shoes in Germany. After his untimely death in 1973, his eldest son, Kurt, at the age of 18, took over the company's production. Later, after their education was complete, his younger brothers, Eckhard and Klaus, joined him in the family business. His two sisters, both medical doctors, are also consulting partners. And, of course, there is Theresia, their mother.

 "Our philosophy is summed up by TPS: Theresia Power System," explains Eckhard Muck, President of US Operations, located in Keene, NH. "We hand-craft our shoes in whole and half-sizes and widths. We design them with long heel counters, for better balance, and anatomically correct arch supports, to reduce stress on the balls of the feet. Many styles in the Celeste and Fits lines have removable foot beds for the use of personal orthotics. We believe that a correct fitting shoe will help a woman feel great from head to toe."

 In the past, fashionable shoes tended to restrict the natural movement of the feet and legs while walking. This, in turn, shortened the stride. A stride that is too short can cause unnatural movements of the whole torso, leading to an increase in muscular tension and fatigue.
